A) An excessive amount of fertilizer which has run off fields into aquatic areas causes increased plant growth, often on plants such as algae which is common on the top of fairly still water. This decreases the light which reaches the water so can change the temperature and alter the plant life at the bottom of the pond / lake / water area so negatively alters the ecosystem. -
